Copy protection limits driver use
User: Paul Mifsud, Aug 16, 2008
Pros: Blue tooth connection seems to work
Cons: copy protected driver limits usefulness
My freedom universal keyboard came with copy protected drivers restricted to two users. My wife used one of them. I use my Pocket PC heavily. As my device fills up with files and programs it gets sluggish. To keep my device working smartly, i regularly do a cold reset which returns the machine to its original state. Then I reload only the files and programs I need. I can see I will be in for a nightmare with the freedom universal keyboard help desk when I try to put the driver back on my Pocket PC. What will I do when I am traveling overseas?

Had I known this, I would have sought another keyboard solution.

The Freedom Universal Keyboard Woes
User: Stephen Nicholas, May 20, 2008
Pros: Small, Convenient, Pleasant to use, Nice feel to the Keys!
Cons: If it would only connect and stay connected after the somewhat complicated driver unlock process!
When connected, this is a great little keyboard. Light, small, with such a nice feel, you will want to use it whenever a keyboard is needed when it will connect and then, stay connected! This is the drawback, and it is a major concern. The Tilt is an amazing device, once the time is taken to learn how to use its multitude of functions. It is like having a small computer, especially after adding the 8gb microSDHC card and this wonderful keyboard however, the operative phrased here is "like having a small computer", because, to add this keyboard, not only requires a difficult driver unlock procedure, it does not connect to the Tilt on any sort of regular basis. There is usually no rhyme of reason for this, and no matter what steps one goes through or in whatever order those steps are taken, it will not connect 80 of the time maybe that should be closer to 90. Then, once connected, it will disconnect for no apparent reason as it did last night while I was conducting a board meeting or last week when I was in a jury trial, attempting to take notes and readying for cross-examination of a witness.... It would not reconnect and completely disrupted my preparation which had to be completed on a legal pad so, I had part on the Tilt and part on the legal pad.... Quite annoying. I am hoping that I just have defective unit and I will be able to replace it with one that functions. If that happens, then I can rewrite this "Opinion" and take out all the bad things I said, for they will no longer be accurate.
